Lack of Accident book entry does not prevent successful slipping claim
In July 2021, Miss S from St Helens slipped and fell in the Trafford Store branch of Aldi. She slipped on some vegetable matter as she was packing her shopping in the bagging area. The accident was witnessed by a member of staff. Miss S was in shock and felt embarrassed so she wanted to get out of the store as quickly as possible. She didn’t think to ask that the fact of the accident book be recorded. Later that day Miss S started to suffer nasty pains in her ankle.
Miss S contacted ourselves and we swiftly demanded access to the store’s CCTV footage before this was wiped. We then settled Miss S’s claim for damages of £8300, around 9 months after her accident happened.
