Ian Bevan, a Director and senior litigator at Aegis Legal acted for Josh, a paramedic, following an incident in May 2023 when he hit his head after being deliberately knocked over by a doorman outside a bar in Leeds City Centre.
Josh was taken via ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary and treated on the neurosurgical ward for a skull fracture having been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury.
Unfortunately, Josh is now at increased risk of epilepsy due to his brain injury, so his ability to perform his role as a Paramedic and in particular in ambulance driving, has been affected.
The employers of the doorman accepted fault for the assault, so a significant settlement was achieved that took into account the impact on Josh’s ability to work in an unrestricted capacity within the NHS.
Josh added “I honestly couldn’t recommend the Aegis Legal team enough. I began my personal injury claim after family members encouraged me to do so because of some life-changing circumstances. Going into it, I had no idea what to expect financially, service-wise, or in terms of the overall process.”
“From the very beginning, Ian and the rest of the team were amazing. They were professional, supportive, and genuinely focused on helping me achieve the best possible outcome. Choosing Aegis Legal was one of the best decisions I’ve made. What really stood out to me was that it never felt like a “let’s just make money” attitude. I always felt that I was at the centre of everything and that my best interests truly mattered.”
“Communication was good throughout, and Ian always got back to me. Overall, I’m extremely grateful for the support and professionalism shown and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a personal injury claim.”
